In 2026, 67 years after the death of Clifford Mackain, recognised as Chief of Clan MacIain by the Clan Donald Society of Edinburgh, it was announced that Cedric Olaf Donald Mackain, my 5th cousin once removed, had his arms matriculated by the Lord Lyon of Scotland and his petition demonstrating his lineage to the MacIains of Ardnamurchan has been accepted. This effectively recognises him as the Senior Representative of the House of Ardnamurchan
